Rich. z rezerwatu przyrody "Mielno" koło Konina Ecological organization of Liparis loeselii (L.) L. C. Rich. population from the nature reserve "Mielno" near Konin Abstract. An ecological organization and environmental conditions of Liparis loeselii population from the nature reserve "Mielno" near Konin are described. Wojciech Rakowski, Wojciech Stachnowicz Ocena zakresu synantropizacji flory roślin naczyniowych i walory szaty roślinnej doliny Warty w okolicy Mechlina (środkowa Wielkopolska) - proponowanego rezerwatu przyrody Synanthropization of the flora and geobotanical values of the River Warta valley in the vicinity of Mechlin (central Wielkopolska) - the proposed nature reserve Abstract. The area of ca 184 ha of the relatively well preserved part of the River Warta valley was investigated geobotanically in 1998 in order to provide documentation for the project of the nature reserve. The results comprise a complete list of vascular plants with their localities in various plant communities. Each species has been characterized by its biological (life form) and ecological (geographical-historical groups) features. Condition and anthropogenic changes of the flora have been estimated using statistical indexes. A general description of vegetation is given with particular attention being paid to the riverside forests of the black and white poplars (Populetum albae). The recapitulatory conclusions emphasize most valuable elements of flora and vegetation. Edward Baraniak, Sławomir Janyszek, Mirosław Jurczyszyn, Magdalena Szczepanik-Janyszek Projektowany rezerwat torfowiskowy "Rokitnica" w okolicach Łaska The planned peat bog nature reserve "Rokitnica" near Łask Abstract. A valuable peat bog with interesting flora, designed for protection as a nature reserve, was described. 59 species of vascular plants, 22 species of mosses and 5 species of lichens were recorded. Among them were a few species protected by law in Poland: Lycopodiella inundata, Drosera rotundifolia (very numerous), Nymphaea candida, Betula obscura, Frangula alnus, at least two species of the genus Cladina and Cetraria islandica. Małgorzata Leśniewska Pareczniki (Chilopoda) Doliny Pienińskiego Potoku (Pieniński Park Narodowy) Centipedes (Chilopoda) of the Pieniński Potok Valley (the Pieniny National Park) Abstract. As a result of studies carried out in the years 1995-1996 in the Pieniński Potok Valley, 17 centipede species were found. Among the most frequent and numerous species were Lithobius burzenlandicus, Lithobius mutabilis, Strigamia acuminata, Cryptops hortensis. 3 species: Lithobius biunguiculatus, Brachygeophilus truncorum, Strigamia transsilvanica were recorded for the first time in the Pieniny Mountains. Adam Głazaczow Psammofilne jętki (Ephemeroptera), ginący element fauny polskich rzek Psammophilous mayflies (Ephemeroptera), disappearing element of the fauna of Polish rivers Abstract. A list of mayflies inhabiting the sandy substratum (psammophilous species) in larger lowland European rivers is presented. Characteristic of the habitats and some features distinguishing these mayflies from other mayfly species are given. Current distribution in Poland, and changes which have taken place, are provided. The greatest changes have occurred in the Warta river, where none of many psammophilous species recorded in the past, are present now. Behningia ulmeri and Oligoneurisca borysthenica are the most threatened species. Edward Baraniak, Urszula Walczak Motyle minujące Wielkopolskiego Parku Narodowego. Część II: Bucculatricidae, Gracillariidae, Lyonetiidae Mining Lepidoptera of the Wielkopolski National Park. Part II: Bucculatricidae, Gracillariidae, Lyonetiidae Abstract. A faunistic list of 93 species of mining Lepidoptera (Bucculatricidae, Gracillariidae, Lyonetiidae) collected in the Wielkopolski National Park is given. Paweł Baranowski, Piotr Tryjanowski Sezonowe zmiany składu pokarmu płomykówki Tyto alba (Scop., 1769) koło Konina Seasonal variation in the diet of barn owl Tyto alba (Scop., 1769) near Konin, central Poland Abstract. The diet of the barn owl Tyto alba was studied in central Poland through 1995. Mammals the most common prey group (89.3 % by number and 88.7 % by biomass), the common vole Microtus arvalis being the most frequent prey species (53 %); its proportion in the diet varied seasonally (range 21-86 %) probably according to its population density. When the density of vole was low, owls switched their predation pressure to alternative prey - the house mouse Mus musculus and the house sparrow Passer domesticus. Their proportion in the diet increased during winter, hence food niche breadth of owls was widest in March - April (B = 5.13) and narrowest (B = 1.33) in September -October.
